Tian-Shan mountain solar and stellar observations station

From the city the tourists are taken to the Bolshoye Almatinskoye Lake by the four-wheel car.
The Lake is situated at the height of 2600 m above sea level.
Then along the winding road the automobile drives to Dzhusaly-Kezen (3336m) pass, past the National Astronomic Institute named after Schtenberg (GAISH).
On the Dzhusaly-Kezen pass there is the Tian-Shan Scientific Station for Observing Space Particles.
After having seen the sights and taken photos of the Sovetov peak (4317m) the tourists begin the descent along the path down to the river Prokhodnaya.
The path runs along the grassy slopes patches of talus at times up to Aleshkin bridge (2700m).
This place at the division line between 2 climatic zones: the alpine zone and the coniferous forests.
Further on the way follows through the thick coniferous forest along the right side of the Prokhodnoye ravine.
After a 40-minutes’ walk the coniferous forest changes into the ash shrubberies and birch groves.
The walk from Aleshkin bridge to the Almarasan rest home is 3 hours long.
In the vicinity of Almarasan rest home there is a beautiful 30-meters high waterfall. From this point the tourists are taken to the city by car.
